Mocha Brownies

I.......  I don't know what to say.....  My friend, Olivia and I were craving chocolate so bad  that I slapped a brownie recipe in her face and she said.....  "YES!!" And, we both loooove Mocha's so this was perfect.  Little did we know that we were out of sugar.  and had a lack of butter.  BIG mistake if you want to make a batch of these puppies.  Yup.  With the frosting and brownie put together it takes up a whole POUND of butter.  I feel like Paula Deen.

See that fuggy brownie?  Ohhhhhh.  You thought you knew chocolate.

Perfect with your coffee in the evening. (DECAFF PLEASE.  I don't want parents jumping off the walls and waking us up please!!) (sorry, I just had to)  By the way, have any of you heard of Land of a Thousand Hills?  It's the one that had the great logo "Drink Coffee do Good"  (Super super pretty please click the link!!)

Preheat oven to 325.
First, cream together 2 sticks butter, and 2 cups sugar.  Get what I've been saying?

and add 4 eggs and mix again.

Then add 4 1 oz. melted blocks of unsweetened baking chocolate,

and 1 Tbs. vanilla.

Add 1 1/4 cups flour and mix JUST until combined.  Pleeeaaase don't over mix, if you do you will become a very depressed person.  Trust me.
Pour into an 8" square pan (I used a 9 1/2" circle pan)  and bake for 40-45 minutes.

To make the to-die-for frosting:

2 sticks butter, softened
5 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup to 3/4 cold coffee

In a large bowl, mix together butter, powdered sugar, cocoa, salt, and vanilla.  mix until slightly combined, then add 1/2 cup coffee.  Whip until desired consistency.  If icing is to thick, add 1/4 cup more coffee.  Spread evenly over cooled brownies and put in fridge for a long time until hard.

If you like mochas, well, please make these, I'll be over jumping up and down saying, "WHERE ARE THEY? WHERE ARE THEY!!??"

You probably get how weird my personality is now.

Enjoy!

You might as well go with the caffienated coffee--with all that chocolate a little more caffien couldn't do any more damage.

You go, girl, that is a super recipe

Ha ha! Only if you are awake at 6:30 over at my house before the hungry wolves wake up and gobble up each bite! Ugh. I have to take pictures early in the morning too.
